I-77 Tolls

Can you imagine a foreign company shelling out enough on lobbyists to subvert the will of the people? It’s happening right now.
Cintra_LobbyistsLast week Cintra’s team of lobbyists descended on Raleigh. You read that right. According to our source, Cintra has a team of “well-placed, well-connected” lobbyists working the legislature to defeat the toll cancellation bill.
So how can we counteract all that money and influence?
Answer: You.
You’ve already opened and read this email. Won’t you take another 20 seconds to cut and paste the message below? After that will you forward this to your friends?
The legislators in Raleigh are getting an earful from the lobbyists. They need to hear from you. Let’s prove democracy is not dead in North Carolina!

Lanes of Traffic

What do people not understand about signs that tell you that a lane is closed and to move to the next lane?
Why do people wait until they get to the closed lane and then stop and wait or even pull in front of a vehicle that is in the correct lane and sometime cause an accident?

Today's News on President Obama
I am a Independent voter, and today's news was very disturbing. It was announced that President Obama was on vacation and when he comes back next week, his top priorities will be:

1/ The fifth anniversary of hurricane Katrina.

2/ Iraq

3/ The Middle East

This when 9.5 percent of Americans are out of work, 1 in every 375 homes are in foreclosure and our open borders are allowing thousands of illegal immigrants to take the few jobs that are available, not just the minimum wage jobs, but also the construction jobs that our economy depends on.
I am not for going back to the Bush or Reagan years when the rich got richer by way of the many tax cuts that the Republican party advocates. But its time to look home before looking abroad.

Two Party System

How long are American voters going to be played like a fiddle by the Democrat and Republican parties? The politicians of both parties do not work for us, but for the special interest groups, such as: Insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies, energy companies, etc, etc. When will we wake up and realize that the only way to take back our country from the lobbyist is to elect people that refuse to take money from the above mentioned groups. A while back a US Supreme Court decision ruled that judges of the WV state courts must removed themselves from any cases involving companies that contributed to their election. The same, should and must be applied to members of Congress and of the Senate. It is time for voters to demand that anyone running for Congress not accept any money from the above mentioned groups. Then we, the American people will once again control how our laws are made and not by who pays the most.

Health Care

Getting sick and tired of all the negative and redundant blather regarding health care reform. It was needed 50 years ago and it is needed now.

Gas Prices

Why is gas high?

So that Mr. Bush's oil company friends can continue to make outrageous amounts of money at the hands of the American middle class.

What can we do about?

Alot!

Like what?

We all need to buy gas, even if its for a moped. But we can deprive two oil companies of their obscene price fixing. First, pick two oil companies, one domestic owned, Exxon and one foreign owned, BP and do not buy any of their products or patronize any of their stations. I would guarantee that within three months, these two companies will begin to lower their prices, which would force the others to lower their prices. Try it, you'll like it!
